Marching Band Show Reveal: TODAY, Monday April 27 we will reveal the 2020 Marching Band show on zoom!  Rising Seniors will be first at noon, followed by two other times open to everyone (any grade, INCLUDING parents!).

MB Show Music:  Students, I will send an email out at 3:00 PM today with links to a Dropbox folder where you can download your show music and audio files that play YOUR part with a click track so you can practice!

MB Registration information:  The online MB registration is on KBBA.org.  Please have your health insurance card handy.  Filling out the registration forms takes approx.10 minutes.  (Slightly longer if you’re trying it on your phone, but it IS possible to do on a phone).  Please read below for important financial information.

MB Planning Options:  This document (also online at kbba.org) shows how we are actively planning for any eventuality this fall and how each option affects the schedule, show, and MB dues.  Parents, please know that we are working hard to be proactive with your time and money in order to give your child the best experience possible!

** Show Reveal on Monday:  Rising Seniors (class of 2021) will get to go first (12:00 noon), as is our tradition at Kell.  EVERYONE ELSE: you will have two options to log in–1:00 or 2:00 PM.  Links are below.  Students and parents are invited to watch the approx. 30-minute presentation and discussion.  Please leave your mic muted during the presentation!  If you can’t make either of the zoom meetings, the teaser trailer for the show will be on KBBA.org starting on 4/27.  We are so excited!

Audition Info!

Hope you had a good weekend! This week before spring break is all about our AUDITIONS.  🙂

** 9th-11th graders: your audition videos are due THIS FRIDAY(4/3) BY 5PM (see instructions below).
** 8th graders: if you want to be on a band roster, please submit an introductory video to flipgrid.  Instructions are below.  IF you want to audition for Symphonic Band/ Wind Ensemble (primarily upperclassmen), you will need to submit audition videos to flipgrid (see instructions below).  All videos are due THIS FRIDAY (4/3) BY 5PM. Remember that auditioning for Symphonic Band/Wind Ensemble is OPTIONAL.

Audition Video Instructions:
** Go to Flipgrid.com (or download the app).
** It should ask you for a flip code. The flip code for the auditions is kellauditions.  This takes you to the Kell Band Auditions “grid.”
** You will see that there are three topics available: “”Snare Etude,” “Winds–Etude,” and “Winds–Scales”
** Choose the topic applicable to you. All percussionists, choose snare etude.  All wind players, you will submit a video to BOTH “winds-etude” AND “winds-scales.”
** Hit the Green “plus” button to start recording.  Remember you have as many tries as you like before submitting your video!
** You may need to sign up for flipgrid using a google or microsoft email.
** You should be able to upload a video using either your phone or your computer.
** The videos are all hidden from view and only viewable by the Kell directors.
